Old friends Kobe and Derek fisher teamed up together along with the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers to beat out the Utah Jazz. The lakers take a 2-0 lead in the playoff series and are now poised to take advantage of taking another jab at Utah for 3-0. It will be difficult because Utah is the toughest home team in the league.
Utah went on to play a balanced offense but it was not enough to beat the Lakers. It was a better performance compared to game 1 however similar problems for both teams still haunting them. Lakers still lost the battle of the boards and Utah still fouled a lot. The game was tight until the final seconds when the lakers sealed the win at 120-110.
Game 3 is in Utah.
Kobe walks the line, steps on Jazz May 5, 2008

The MVP kobe bryant, sank 21 of his 23 foul shots to lead the Lakers past the Jazz in their series opener. He scored 38 as he established a franchise playoff record in free throws, all thanks to the Utah Jazz!
There is a lot of history between these two teams, especially back when Kobe was starting out as a Laker and Karl Malone was still getting mail from John stockton. hahaha Utah eliminated the lakers before bowing out to the Micheal Jordan led Bulls in the finals. Now it seems that time has brought back history but this time there are new characters (much older, wiser) and new story line is unfolding.
Utah will regroup after a poor shooting performance from their star point guard D.williams. Credit goes to D.Fish for a fantastic display of defense, 6 steals. But even though the win goes to the Lakers there is still room for improvement. Utah out rebounded the Lakers tallying 25 offensive boards. Lakers bigs (odom and gasol) needs to crash the boards on game 2.
the series has just begun… stay tuned
LA vs Utah in round 2 May 4, 2008

Lakers and Jazz squares off in hollywood for round 2 of the NBA playoffs. Newly crowned MVP, Kobe Bryant, will lead his team against a very physical Jazz team. It will be a very tough match for both teams. Kobe vs AK47, Fisher vs. D.williams, Lamar vs. Okur and Pau vs. Boozer. It will be interesting as to how the coaching staff will shuffle their players on game 1 of their series.
I know, I was seriously rooting for the Rockets to win their series with the Jazz but we will have to settle with what the basket ball gods has given us and slug it out like any other championship caliber team.
This will be an interesting series that might go down the wire.

Last Thursday we were at uncle moe’s shawarma place in the city golf complex near Home Depot. It is now proud to say to it’s customers that they have been accredited by the 300 club. Well, the primary reason they get the nod from the 300 club is because they have the best tasting chicken shawarma for 65 pesos. For those who are cutting on red meat and are looking for an alternative chicken dishes, we are encouraging you try this one.
other considerations that we took note of are:
1. They really have a nice place. ( nice clean interior with air conditioning)
2. other food choices are great as well.
3. free parking
overall nice hangout place. 300 club approved!
Uncle Moe’s price is just a little bit more expensive than Food Channel but I think they charge a fair price. they do have a lot of overhead costs to cover compared to Food channel ( based on my observation) plus the fact that they do have less foot traffic than food channel (because of store location).

I took the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) entrance exam last march 28 and three weeks ago I was informed that I have passed the exam and I was up for an interview. The interview, I guess, was the real determinant if you will pass the entrance process of the school.
I was interviewed and was told that I passed.
I will be taking up a 16 month intensive MBA course. I will turn into a full time student and battle it out in what I think would be the most competitive environment that I will be in.

I was very excited to watch the new superhero movie from Marvel, Iron Man. I’ve heard a lot of buzz from my friends that the movie is good. I think the movie lived up to its hype as movie goers flocked the cinemas for the real man of steel. In preparation for the showing of this movie in the cinemas, management of our local cineplexes have started pre-selling seats since last week.
I am a procrastinator and I never bought a ticket for the screening so guess what I did, I just woke up early on this Labor day holiday and was one of the first people in line to buy tickets. I’ve never done this for a movie since the First Spiderman movie was played in theatres.
I’m a fan of marvel comics, particularly spiderman so Im supporting their movies. Some movies Im not so fond of like Daredevil and Ghost Rider. After watching the movie, I must admit that this is one of the best superhero movies I’ve seen.
Since this is the first movie, a lot of the plot centered on the creation of IRON Man and the man behind the machine, Tony Stark. Tony Stark’s character was well played by Robert Downey Jr. maybe because he has a connection with the character. Other subplots were slowly introduced like a potential love interest between Tony and his assistant and the hinting of a new character in Tony’s military friend who will also dawn an armor in the future. But the most notable thing about the movie was the effects. It definitely helped that our current technology could already show so much detail on the screen. The movie was action packed and this movie will keep you interested from start to finish.
If there is one thing from the movie that I would like to take away (if it can happen to me in real life) it would be Tony Stark’s plane when they were flying off to afgahnistan. (you’ll know what i mean once you’ve seen it)
Movie Rating: A+

Entreprenuer Magazine Philippines have constantly helped entreprenuers through different programs and this free marketing seminar was just one of the many ways they help us. The Seminar was held last April 26,2008 at the La Salle Graduate school in RCBC plaza.
The speakers of the seminar were Josiah and Chiqui Go of Mansmith Marketing. It was a very interesting seminar because they tackled actual business questions that were sent via email by the participants.
The topics that really caught my attention was the elevator pitch, guerrilla marketing, and the blue ocean strategy. Though it was not discussed in detail everyone had the basic knowledge these topics when they left the seminar.
This seminar was advertised only through email.
LA sweeps Denver in their Playoff series April 29, 2008

The Los Angeles Lakers never backed down and clamped on Denver Nuggets as they completed the sweep of the 1st round. The Denver Nuggets made a game out of this one, the best game they might have showed in the series, but its too late.
Kobe Bryant was his usual self, finishing the game with style. The Lakers will face the winner of the Jazz-Rockets series. I personally hope the rockets win against Utah because I feel its about time for Tracy to pass the 1st round. And Im a little biased because I think the Lakers will have a match up advantage on the Rockets compared to the jazz.
But whoever wins the Lakers will definitely be ready to bring on the pain. hahaha

Since the begining of this wonderful club. It is about time to show you guys the men behind the 300 club and the ongoing search for establishments that meets the 300 club requirements.
For those of you who are just reading about the 300 club, the 300 club was established last year by Pierre Tan, Gregory How, and Kenneth Reyes-Lao (me). The members of the group have noticed that there is an upward trend in spending among our peers, neglecting important points in personal finance such as saving, investing, and delayed gratification. The objective of the group is to prove that we can still have go out and have fun with the budget of 300 pesos per person.
The picture above was taken during our road trip to tanay rizal. When everyone was capitalizing on the 3day holiday, and going to boracay (etc.) We were out on a roadtrip spending only for lunch.

LA Lakers trampled on Denver with Team Play April 28, 2008

Lakers continued their streak and beat down the Nuggets to win Game 3 of their first round series. It was a dissapointing loss to the Denver Nuggets especially there was no one to blame but themselves. Denver’s 2 leading scorers AI and Carmelo shot poorly in this game, missing a lot of layups and close shots.
It was evident that the Denver starters were not getting it done when Coach Karl sat most of them in th 4th quarter. The Lakers didnt care about Nugget’s woes they just outplayed, out-perform, and out-classed the struggling nuggets. Kobe led the lakers’ balanced offense with 22 points and all the nuggets can do is pout their way into the locker room.
Lakers is out for blood on game 4 and this could spell SWEEP for for the nugget’s playoff hopes. The last stand is at Denver.
